I have lost the slip that came in the box when I bought the sims 3 how can I activate the game on my computer again?

From a scan of the forums, it seems we have to contact EA directly for a replacement code.

They have a live chat service which is obviously helpful, if you can ever get through to an advisor...

Doesn't help when you've had to do a factory reset of your laptop, leaving no traces of the code in your registry, and for some reason, the live chat has been telling me I'll be speaking to an advisor in approx. 5 minutes, for about an hour.
