i just brought the sims 3 digital download i have problems....

i downloaded the mac version of the sims 3 from Grametree, checked the specfications and everthing was ok. 

I managed to get to the game launcher screen but then the frustrating things happened. 

1st- it keeps downloading updates for patches which i have no idea what thats about

2nd - i keep getting asked for the registration code over and over again 

3rd - now it saying i have reached the license limit for this product, i havent even loaded the game properly yet. 

i have a macbook pro using mac os x  version 10.5.8, 

please help if you can!!
