do I transfer it out of my old system somehow

you need to install it on your new computer

if you have disks install that way

if digital downloads download Origin install it once done then launch the Origin log in with the email and password you use for your account right click the base game icon download

edit to add ap.s

you don't have to use the disks again once agame is regestired it should be in your Origin account just download and install the digital versions instead
