how do i install the sims 4 base game without add ons

I've got a laptop and I can't play the sims 4 with all the add ons as it just crashes, but it keeps installing them all automatically. I was able to play it fine last night as all of the add ons wouldn't download, but then this morning went to play it and it had downloaded all of the add ons, causing the game to crash and close. Is there a way to just play the base game?

You can't stop Origin from installing everything, but you can uninstall what you don't want after that.
