So My grafics card is a AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics and so I try and run the sims but I get this error what do I do?

Could you try if it starts if you try Sims 4 windowed mode: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/playing-the-sims-4-in-windowed-mode/

I get the exact same error, except I have two Radeon RX 480s and an Intel Core i5-6600. I am on the latest Radeon 17.6.2 drivers. I have verified the game in Origin. Windowed mode continues to crash.

Could you try a clean reinstall of your AMD drivers

You can use this utility: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx

After that redownload the newest drivers and install them again.

I think that did the trick.

1. Booted into Safe Mode
2. Uninstalled all AMD drivers with this tool: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&p=2057#p2057
3. Booted into normal Windows 10
4. Installed Radeon 17.6.2 drivers
5. Rebooted
6. Repaired TS4 in Origin (just in case)
7. Launched TS4

And now it works, even in full screen.
