can't find anything online, moving sim to lot then set as head doesn't work.

if you're not opposed to mods, you can get TwistedMexi's CheatFixer and MasterCommand Center (you juts need the main module and the cheat module).
Those two will give you the option to destroy the object when shift-clicking on the item.
