accidentally bought sims 4 get to work for windows 8

i bought the pc download on amazon, but then realized the platform said windows 8? I have windows 7. will the game run normally or do I need to return this version and purchase the right one?

It's compatible with Windows 7. It should run, as long as you already bought the base game of The Sims 4.

also, now i entered the product code and it slowly began downloading, but wasn't actually showing in my games, so i stopped the download because it kinda stopped progressing. how do I make it download again since it knows I already redeemed the product code?
