Wont let me play my households

My sims 4 lets me make sims and build houses but wont let me play them. When i click on a house to play there is a blue flashing picture and a sims loading gem where the family picture should be on every household. This happens on both my computer and my laptop and has only started the last few days

are you using mods/cc ? A lot has been outdated with the patches and need updating.

The list is not complete so there might be other mods causing issues.

You must update or remove incompatible mods or you will run into issues

Even when i have removed all of the mods/ cc its still there
