Hello,
My Sister is about to purchase a new laptop for herself and she asked me to see if The Sims 4 will run in High Quality or even Ultra with these specs:
-- HP Pavilion 17-Ab405 Gaming Laptop
-- Intel Core i5 Processor
-- NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Graphics (2GB GDDR5 dedicated), 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD.
Many Thanks

@ChrisIsaacs1998 The computer is good for TS4 but not great. The graphics card will run the game on high settings, maybe ultra now, but performance will fall off as more demanding packs are added in the near future. (HP is also not the best company for gaming computers.)
From the model number, it looks like your sister is in the U.K.? Amazon is showing the price as £700, and I think she could do a bit better. If you let me know how much she can spend (and please confirm her country in case I'm reading things wrong here), I'll look for better options. At the very least, she could get an Asus with a slightly stronger graphics card for £600. The laptops with an Nvidia 1060 6 GB, which will always run TS4 on the highest settings, start at or a bit under £900, depending on sales.

Thank you for the response, and to confirm we’re both from the UK and speaking of ASUS we also seen this deal on a laptop from the model that is currently on sale and may offer better specs for the sims 4:
Specs for this laptop:
We’re aiming to purchase a laptop from Very.co.uk, and her budget £800

@ChrisIsaacs1998 I looked around a bit, and very.co.uk only has a limited selection, most of which is a bit overpriced. If you really want to buy there though, get this model, at £670. It has the same processor and graphics card as the one you just linked.
The best prices I found are at box.co.uk. The same model as above is £620. The 17" version, with the exact same specs, is also £620.

The best price overall is this one, at £580. The only difference from the above models is that it has a 256 GB SSD/1 TB combination, rather than the 1 TB hybrid drive, which will read and write data at a speed in between an SSD and an HDD. (Sims 4 doesn't benefit from a faster hard drive, but many other apps do.) If you don't like this company, the same laptop is £600 on Amazon.

For £720, you could get an equivalent graphics card and a much stronger processor. MSI also makes great gaming laptops, even at the entry level.

(An Asus with the same specs is £746 on Amazon. Yay for stupidly long links.)
Finally, I did look for models with an Nvidia 1060 6 GB, but the cheapest is £850, unfortunately. For reference:
