Why won't my expainsion register?

i bought a copy of seasons on a different site and put the key into my origins account. it took a bit to show that i owned the game, but the sims 3 store wont let me register the game and says i dont own it. what did i do wrong?

@minaspragu822  What "different site" did you buy Seasons from? As Seasons is an expansion pack you need to download the pack from Origin - right click the game icon - click show game details - click extra content - scroll to find pack. As thesims3.com is a different site it may time some time to show as owned in thesims3.com my page.

i apparently did not wait long enough for it to show up. it took about 48 hours for it to show up
