Why is my Sims 4 lagging after the latest update?

Hi guys. So basically, I updated my Sims 4 to the most recent update; the one with the colorful maps. I opened the game, and I soon found out that it wasn't as smooth as before. Lag would come and go in short bursts making the game quite difficult to play and enjoy.  

If anyone could help out and possibly give me a few tips on what I should do, that would be great. <3

It might be you're running the 64-bit version. You might need to add that in the Nivdia/AMD Control panel.
