Whole hole mouse in wall glitching

So I created this house for a friend and I wanted to prank her by placing mouse holes all over the house. So I placed a bunch the other day and then put furniture in front of them. Then today, I moved someone in to see if they were able to run around the area through the furniture and they were, but all I could see where shadows. The shadows moved around like the mice, but you couldn't actually see the mice. I placed a few more holes without furniture in front, but then those didn't have mice come out of them at all. I had the sim sit in front of it for a full sim day and they still don't show up. When I click on the old holes, it says I can place a trap, but when I click on the new ones, nothing comes up. I even placed 3 in a different house and no mice shows up there either.
