What do I do if my Sims game says it's running but it won't even open?

★ Novice

For about 3 maybe more days now my Sims game will say it's launching and then say it's running and I can go ahead and play but right after it takes me to my pc's home screen. Does anyone have a solution on how to fix it?

@SlayDee15  Please first make a backup copy of your saves or the entire Sims 4 user folder they're in (the one in Documents > Electronic Arts).  An external drive or USB stick would be best, but in a pinch, you can drop the copy in Downloads since OneDrive doesn't touch that folder.  You can copy the folder by right-clicking and selecting Copy, and then right-click where you want the copy to go and select Paste.

Next, please disable OneDrive's automatic syncing of Documents:

You may first need to pause syncing or cancel the current sync:

If you get an error message, please post a screenshot.  Once that's done, restart your computer and try again to play.  If you see the same error, please post the full file path to Documents.  Open a File Explorer window and right-click Documents in the left panel, then choose Properties > Location and post that location.

@SlayDee15  Please try the troubleshooting steps listed here:

If those don't help, please let me know what antivirus you use, if any, and whether you use OneDrive.

Those things didn't work but it is possible that I may have done something wrong when using those methods and yes I do have OneDrive.

Thank you so much. You’re a life saver because I was this close to deleting my game but it’s finally opening.
