Updating issues

so i have only had sims 3 game for less than a week, and the first day i installed it, it told me it needed to update if i wanted to log in. So i did try to update it, but every single time i try it just stays at 99%. So at night i decided to leave it updating so when i wake up in the morning it would be done, but i was wrong. when i had awoken it was gone so i assumed the update finished. I opened up the launcher page and it told me that i needed to update it, so now im very confused about whats going on. my computer is fast so i dont get why it just gets to 99% and stays there. So please tell me what i should do, because of this i cant see any if the things i bought with my sim points. Please help!
