Unable to load game after upgrading to EA App and back to Origin.

★ Novice

Hey, I've been playing Sims 3 happily for years. Yesterday I replaced Origin with the EA App and the game transferred loaded, but was unable to load my save games, just saying it had an error. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, however it then stopped loading at all, just crashing from the launcher to the EA app. I uninstalled EA and reinstalled Origin, but now the game won't load from the launcher, it just crashes back to the Origin app.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, Origin, deleting all traces of Origin from the registry between installs, and multiple other options and solutions from a range of forums. Still I am unable to load the game. It seems to generate the error log attached and below. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Unable to load game after upgrading to EA App and back to Origin.

@Kirkoid  Does your computer have a 12th-gen Intel processor, and if so, did you originally use the Alder Lake patch made by Lazy Duchess but forget to apply it this time around?  Its effects would disappear with the uninstall and reinstall of the game.  If you're not sure what I'm talking about, please see the accepted solution in this thread:

If this isn't the issue, or the immediate one anyway, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

One reason your saves might not have loaded after you switched to the EA App but before you reinstalled is that the App doesn't handle store content properly.  So if you were playing in a store world, and that world couldn't load, neither could the save.  This is the master thread for that particular issue:

The only workaround at the moment is to go back to Origin; click the linked thread in the first post to find a download link.

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.

Hey @puzzlezaddict, you're right, I had forgotten to reapply the Alder Lake patch. It's now up and running again, thanks for your help.
