Unable to enter buy/build mode while a sim is moving

★★★★★ Newbie

Hi there,

My game has been stuck in moving in mode when I made my family move from their house to another. I've had this family for four generations so I'm pretty sad about it.

I cannot enter edit town. I removed all mods. I did resetsim* and full reset town with NRASS but nothing works. I've also tried deleting each sim and bringing them back with NRASS as well but nothing works. I know some people are stuck because of the Axe but I do not have the world adventure expansion. Please help Frown

@paasulla  Can you quit without saving and try again?  That might be the only good option here.

If you can't do that, try using NRaas MasterController to move the sims to a different lot.  Right-click the lot's map tag, or the house itself, and select NRaas > MC > Add Sim > [your sims' names].  If you can't do this all at once, try a few, make one of them active (click the sim and select NRaas > MC > Make Active), then add the other sims to the new household the same way.  The idea is to abolish the old household and with it the "in the process of moving" status.  Your sims might lose some items though, hence the suggestion to quit without saving.

@paasulla  Did you add all the sims to a different household with MC, then run an MC town reset, then quit and reload?  That's about as thorough an intervention as I can think of.

If this doesn't help, how attached are you to the town the sims are living in, as opposed to the sims themselves?  What about the sims' relationships with other sims outside their households?  There should be ways to keep your sims intact while sacrificing some other data, depending on what you're willing to lose.
