The expansion pack wont play

I bought the Into the Future expansion and when i downloaded it it said everything that it would normally say but when i opened sims a message popped up saying the disk wasn't in even though it is. it said to put the disk in so i took it out and put it back in and hit the check mark on the message and it completely closed out Sims. Me and my dad did everything the instructions said to do but it still wont let me play the expansion or any of the other sims 3 expansions.  

Any ideas?

@Destiel1018 please download and install the super patch. If it asks if you want to overwrite your current game version, say "yes." The super patch can be found here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Current-Patch-1-67-Manual-links-and-more/td-p/67858
