The camera starts scrolling without touching mouse

This has happened twice to me now, seemingly randomly the camera starts to pan upward until it reaches the edge of the map. It keeps moving forward and you cannot move your camera back or left, centering it on your character causes the camera to again pan upward and if you turn  the camera, it begins to move what is now the forward direction until it reaches the end.

Is this with edge scrolling on or off ?

I have edge scrolling on.

Could you test if the same happens if you have it off ?

I have edge scrolling off and I occasionally have the same problem. It seems to stop after awhile, but the last time while it was happening I couldn't center on any of the sims, or make them do anything. I went into build/buy to see if that would stop it. It didn't, but it stopped a short time later and worked normally.

I definitely have this happen to me quite a bit. I just fix mine by double clicking anywhere in the centre of the screen?

Do you have any extra input devices attached to your computer ?

I used to be able to fix this by double clicking anywhere on the screen which was actually extremely annoying because it'd happen to me quite often. However this time (I'm currently playing) it won't stop scrolling and nothing I do will stop it even when I pause the game or pull up the game options. The game would do this even before I had all my cc's, mods, and expansion packs.
