The Start program want work in downloading

★★★★★ Newbie

I want to reinstall Sims3 at my granddaughters pc . Everything goes all right with Origin, BUT nothing can be downloaded in the startprogram. It does not matter if its extras from EA og other mods. I have all   from EA on my pc.  I use Windows 10. Last time it was installed it was on this pc with W10. The version of the startprogram is 1.69.43.024017

@mormorgittan  Do you mean the Sims 3 launcher?  (The one that has the Play button.)  If so, it's easier to just use a web browser to download content and manually install it.  Store stuff and player-made creations, when downloaded, when downloaded from the store, should automatically land in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads, where they can be read by the launcher and installed through its Downloads tab.  Any files in .Sims3Pack form you find on a third-party site should also go in this folder and installed the same way.

If you're adding mods, not custom content, they're .package files and need to be installed differently.  Some custom content also comes in .package form and is handled the same way as mods.  Here's a guide:

In general, if the launcher isn't cooperating, which it often doesn't, it may help to clear the cache for Internet Explorer.  Even if you never use it, the launcher does for some purposes, and it's still present in Windows 10.  Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorite sites.

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.
