The Sims 4 claims it is open when it isn't

I have been trying to join The Sims 4 through Origin. When I went to press 'play', it came up with an error code thing that said 'The Sims 4 is already open'. However, I checked my open applications and it wasn't open. I've tried quitting Origin and repairing the game but it's no use. Anyone else ever had this issue?
