The Sims 4 Install Error

The launch icon for the Sims 4 was just plainly the general.exe icon, so when I clicked on it a window popped up saying that it was looking for a shortcut. It could not find a shortcut, so I went into Origin. When I hovered over the game, instead of "play" it said "install". Even after I re-install it, the install button is still there. I deleted all the Sims 4 files, hoping it would just redownload them all, but the same thing keeps happening. I've restarted Origin multiple times, but it still does the same thing. I really want to know if there is a fix for this.

Try this from the Origin FAQ:

22 - Origin installed a game and only offers to Install it again

Run Origin as administrator and install the game

Add Origin to your antivirus's and firewall's white lists
