The Sims 3 wont launch

Hi there. My son and I are having trouble installing our sims 3 game.  Have tried typing in the serial number but keep getting error messages.   Because I am in Australia origin support is only open Monday to Friday.  Can anyone help us please.  Oh and we have a laptop and are using windows 10.
