The Sims 3 installation problem

seems like nobody else is having this problem except me. Im trying to install my sims 3 on my new mac. ive installed it on another computer before. apparenty i made a password that i now need required to proceed with the installation process but i dont remember it and it doesnt give me the option to retrieve it somehow. I dont know what to do to continue installation.  it just says "the sims (tm)3 install wants to make changes, type password to allow this." helllpppp

I had the same problem turns out I just needed to put my laptop password in lol
