@LinnySue Merged your threads. No need to have two.
Did you get delete your user files when you uninstalled ? If not, try renaming the doc folder: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/resetting-the-game-to-factory-settings-without-reinstalling/

This has worked for me :
1. Go to control panel.
2. Go to Internet options.
3. Click the connections tab and at the bottom of the window click on LAN SETTINGS.
4. uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.
5. Click Apply.
6. Close Origin restart the program and computer.
If this doesn't work , your antivirus or firewall could be blocking your connection, try to add origin in your firewall list
Hope this helps
