Stuck on Loading screen when selecting save file to load?

Hello! Playing on a 2018 MacBook. I have about 300 hours using the origin launcher and have never had any problems. Not using any mods or CC. What is causing this permanent loading screen?

in short, if you have a backup save file before Winterfest, remove Father Winter and try to play.
