Sims won't eat

Last night everything was fine. However today, the only way my sims will eat is if its a remade dish or pizza that is out on the counter tops. They will not cook or get food from the fridge, the action does not show for my sims but when I tell them to cook a dish It will still charge me. But the dish does not get made. I don't understand how to fix this problem that has randomly occurred.
