Sims take hours to stop canceled action

When I cancel and action (for example painting) it takes m sim (sim)hours to finally stop. It is also like this when they cancel it themselves to go to work or something, so they don't get to work in time. 

I do have mods, but I did test it vanilla and it was still the same.

I don't know what happened but it worked again after a few times restarting my game over the past couple of days. I think my laptop was a bit overloaded or something...

Did you also test on a fresh game ?
