Sims not loading a game

Whenever I log into sims on my Laptop I’ve got the option to load game or start a new game ... but when I try and press load game it doesn’t work and my mouse changes from the ‘sims mouse’ to my normal mouse. I can only click on ‘new game’

Change the resolution settings of the screen in the game option. Part of your screen is inactive for the cursor just where the Load Button is.
Try the highest first and check if your Load Button is alive
