Sims game keeps crashing

I have been trying to even play offline, my folders are clear, my inventories are not alot of things in there, I am NOT using any mods at all and my game still keeps crashing on me.  This usually happens when I am trying to travel to a venue and it will go to the load screen but then never finish loading and will just stay on that screen for a very long time ( I have even gone to do other things and come back and still on the screen!) until I end up control alt deleting out.  Please tell me why this is happening, it started just before Get Famous came out.  At first I thought it was associated with Maxis favoriting things, which somehow still come thru even when it says I am offline, not sure how it does that.  I really love this game and want to play it but for some reason your game does not want to be played by me.  Please tell me why this is happening and hopefully a real way of fixing it, I do not have other games I play and really need this distraction the game provides me, please help me fix this. I have used the cheat needs cheat but that is because it is overwhelming to a person like me and I thought it was okay to use that one.

***Thank you for any help that I can get on this, And if you can please tell me what each of those are a problem for, meaning what caused them.  I want to be able to play my game and it is getting really hard to do so.  I use a laptop but all of my specs are in line with what I need, supposedly, and I do not know why I have so many issues.  I tried using a mod before in the past and it went really badly so I do not use them, I would rather have just the game anyway, it's just that the game itself does not always work for me and that is really my only issue with it, if it will work and I can play it that is all I ask for.
