Re: Sims freezes!

@nicolasophia1994  I'm not surprised that your current laptop is struggling to run the game.  As mentioned, its hardware is quite weak for Sims 4, and its graphics chip is under the minimum requirement.  The driver for your graphics chip is also quite old, but I don't think there's even a Windows 10 driver for your particular model.  (I don't know for sure because the exact processor isn't listed, but I can guess from the laptop's model number.)

If you'd like to continue troubleshooting on your current computer, please open the config.log file inside Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, and copy and paste the first 40 or so lines into a post here.  (Stop at "Options," where the game options start.)  This will show whether your hardware is being recognized correctly.  You can delete the machine and user names, about 20 lines down, but there's no other personal information in that file.

For new computers, the one you linked would work much better: it should run all Sims 4 packs together on ultra or a mix of high and ultra settings.  But you could do better for the same price.  An Nvidia 1650 is something like 40% faster in gaming than the Nvidia 1050 in the model you linked, and laptops with a 1650 start around the same price.  For example:

The only drawback of these is that they have a small 256 GB hard drive.  That's still more than enough for Sims 4, all your user data, and as many small apps like browsers you want.  But if you'd like more storage than that, for example if you're thinking about playing other games, you may want a 512 GB hard drive instead.  These are basically the same laptop, priced at $700 on various websites:

The only meaningful difference among these laptops is that a couple of them have an Intel processor (an i5-9300H) as opposed to an AMD processor (a Ryzen 5 3550H).  These are equivalent in performance overall, but all else being equal, I'd personally prefer an Intel CPU.  It's a bit complicated, but if you're curious, feel free to ask and I'll write out an explanation.

And of course more questions are always fine.
