Sims are freezing problems

Hi I am using Sims on PC. 

Since last week, the game has updated twice and now sims seem to freeze/have animation problems. They seem unresponsive.

Is there any workaround for this?

@crazycenta  Have you tested without mods and custom content?  If not, please do so now: move the entire Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.

If your existing save is still affected, please start a new one and let me know how it runs.  If the new save is affected too, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
