What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except Island Living, Strangerville, Moschino, Bowling, and Fitness
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure
What happens when the bug occurs? I logged onto my sims and I only have saves dating back from January to May, and my most recent families are gone.
What do you expect to see? My families
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I logged onto my sims 4 game today, and a family I had been playing for a while now was nowhere to be seen, and the only saves I have in the game are dating back from january to May. I just updated the game, not sure if that has anything to do with it. The last time I played was sometime last month.

Moving this to tech for troubleshooting.
looks like the game is using a different folder as user folder now (for example on OneDrive)
Here's instructions on how to find out which folder your game uses: https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/
Once you found out which one, just copy all your stuff over to that folder or if it's oneDrive, turn that off to force the game to use the other one.

I found where it's pulling the saves from, it's from my onebox, and I also have an EA folder in my regular documents. But in both folders, I still have my most recent saves in there, they are just not appearing when i go to load them in the game.
It's only showing me the saves in red, and not the most recent ones in black.

@marblemicros1 The game doesn't recognize saves that have a different name format.
Rename the ones that are not showing to Slot_00000004.save
the .ver ones are backups. you can also rename those if you want but unless an issue occurs with the current save, you don't really need them.
Then they should be recognized.

I just want to say that this also happened to me and it started after the last update they had with the photos. I have created at least 5 new games and they just disappear!! The game I had been playing for months is also gone. Everything after 8.21.19.

If you find your game is saving to OneDrive, and you don't want to save in the cloud, you can Turn Off OneDrive. If you want to keep OneDrive, find your Documents folder on your hard drive (default location is C:\<YourWindowsUserName>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves), and copy the files in your saves folder to the saves folder in OneDrive.

I should have mentioned that I am on the x box. I did start a topic there in the troubleshooting section, but nothing yet. I have seen a couple of people with similiar issues since the update.
