I press the play button, it thinks for a bit then the game library pops back up again.
I’ve repaired it, updated it, deleted cache and temp files, moved the file, uninstalled sims 4 and then uninstalled origin and reinstalled everything and it still won’t open. I don’t know what else to do, please help

I've been having this same problem for months. Every once in a while it will decide to start up after a fresh restart but that's rare. I have an icore 7 and 64gb of ram so computing power shouldn't be the problem. I've also cleared cache, repaired the sims reinstalling origin was my next step.

@eloiseangus and @malik_ishtar_ygo Please let me know what antivirus you use. Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@malik_ishtar_ygo Avast is one of several antivirus programs that currently blocks Sims 4 on default settings. Please change all the settings described in this article:

If that doesn't help, try playing in a clean boot:

When you reboot, disable all your gaming and monitoring software: NZXT CAM, Asus ArmouryCrate, Corsair whatever... anything you can find in the Task Manager's background processes list that doesn't need to be running. These services have all crashed at least once recently, and a problem with one of them could easily prevent Sims 4 from loading as well.

Took some time but tried all of that and it still won't launch.

@malik_ishtar_ygo Sorry for the late reply. Try playing in a new admin user account on your computer. Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services. You'll be able to login to your current Origin account and won't need to redownload the game, but your saves and other content won't be available.
