Sims 4 wont launch

Hi, I just updated Origin and the new Sims 4 update/patch and everything with origin seems to be working fine but once I go to play the Sims 4, it comes up as a black screen with a loading sign on my cursor and then it goes back to my desktop a few seconds later but the icon stays at the bottom where all my open programs are. Is there any way to fix the problem without deleting everything and re downloading it? (I don't have any mods or CC in my game)
