Sims 4 will not launh

I bought the game and ownloaded it a few days ago. I have been trying to open the game ot play it ever since, but it simply will not launch. I do not get any error messages. 

Specifically, I double click the Sims4 Icon, the thinking blue circle appears for a few seconds then it goes away. Nothing after that happens. I tried to open it in Origin, and the same things occur. I checked to see if my computer is able to play the this particcualr game and so far everything checks out great. I tried to do the clean reboot as mentioned in previous chats, but it still will not open. I have unistalled the game then reinstalled it. Nothing I have tried has helped. 

If anyone has any idea of what to do that would be awesome, paying that much for a game that will not launch is a aggrivating.

What is the PC that you are running this game on?

Please try running the game in compatibility mode for window 7 and as administrator.

I have real time chatted with 3 EA people now on this. Nobody has been able to help, and I know several people have this same issue, as the OP does.

They have now asked me to uninstall my anti-virus, and then I lost the connection with the "specialist". I'm trying a 4th time now to chat with them and figure this out. I have spent way too much time on this.

I'm not sure if you're an EA person, but I picked the call me option this time. We'll see how it goes.

I am having a variation of this issue. You might want to try going offline on the Origin Launcher then try loading the game. As long as I go offline first the game will load for me. Once loaded I can play as long as I do not try to go on-line. This causes the game to lock and I have to repeat the process above of going offline and reloading.

Thanks, I tried the offline thing and it will not load... I downloaded the demo and that works perfectly. I am on a HP Pavilion but it has windows 8...Is that a problem?
