Sims 4 update wiped out game

I just update my game, as it stated that it wouldn't be playable without it, and I've loaded the game up after the update and everything is gone. It loaded it as if it was the first time load. All my houses, all my sims, gone. Any help?

@megansloco644; You don't say whether you're playing on a PC, or a game console (and if the latter, which one.)  So it's a bit difficult to give any useful troubleshooting advice.

are you using oneDrive ?

Could you check this folder if you still have your saves there: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves

This is not a solution.  This can only help determine if your game saves are actually on your computer or have been removed.
