Sims 4 not working after update

i hadn't updated origin in a while, let alone the game so today i decided to update both. each took a very short amount of time(which is unusual). i had already taken the cc up so the game could update so after the update, the game opened and everything was fine. so i closed the sims and origin and put all of my cc back in. i tried opening the game and it wouldn't open past a certain point. i would click on it and origin would pop up so i could login. usually after that, the sims would open but this time, it took me to my homepage in origin. i thought nothing of it. i went to my library and tried clicking play on the sims there but it doesn't work. so i've been taking bits of my cc out at a time for the past few hours and tying to reopen origin and the sims and its not working. can anyone help? suggestions to try or and answer would be appreciated. anything would be appreciated really.

@Deliam0831 I noticed since the initial Island expansion pack all my last exceptions are from Maxis and EA NOT from any of my mods or CC. It's loaded python errors in the script of the game. It's something the game really needs to fix.

@drakharis so you're saying it;s the sims itself? like island living is messing with eveyone's games, regardless of if they have island living or not? because i only have like 3 stuff packs and nothing else besides cc

Do you have any Mods or CC? If so move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game.

If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.
