Sims 4 crashing on Mac during launch after toddler update. [ Edited ]

Sims 4 crashing after toddler update. I was able to play initially after the update, but as of today it lets me select a household to play, and then crashes. Sometimes sooner.

The recommended Mac requirements are:

OS: Mac OS® X 10.9 or later
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5 or better
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 650 or better
MEMORY: 8GB RAM (4G minimum required)
HARD DRIVE: 12 GB of Hard Drive space

I have:

OS: Sierra (10.12.3)
PROCESSOR: 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
VIDEO CARD: ?
MEMORY: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

GRAPHICS: Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB
HARD DRIVE: 60 GB available

Expansion packs: Get to Work, City Living, Get Together, Outdoor Retreat

Note: no mods, etc. have tried repairing but not uninstalling.
