Sims 4. New update means I suddenly need Legacy Edition (but didn't before)?

★★★★★ Newbie

Hello! After I updated my game yesterday (27/07/2020) my game won't start and tells me I need Legacy Edition due to game data missing. Although I didn't before this update, and have the system requirements to play regular Sims 4. I also can't download Legacy Edition because the website simply won't let me log in. It just tells me "Log in not available right now". What does this mean, and how do I fix it? :/ Right now I can't play the game at all. I have tried reparing the game in Origin, but that did nothing. Thankful for any help. Standard smile

@Lerathla  If you haven't needed the Legacy Edition before now, you shouldn't need it now either.  Nor do you need to login to the Origin website.  Instead, try clearing Origin's cache:

and then repair again, and manually run the update (right-click and select Update instead of Repair).  Origin should scan the game files and confirm they're up to date.  If you still get the Legacy Edition prompt, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.
