Sims 4 Households gone (and places that was already on the game)

About a month ago I was playing The Sims 4 and the game was working fine. I decided to take my family (two adults one child) to the park, except when I arrived at the park everything was gone! So then I sent them home....and their home was gone so then I sent the adults to the Rattlesnake Juice Bar and all of the staff and people already there was standing on the pavement outside. After a bit I moved them too another house and it was gone too!!!! It even happened with new sims.

Please can anyone help?

Not sure what you mean.

Just click on the + sign in game in the upper right corner to start a new save.

Try the following

1. Close the game without saving
2. Go to this folder documents\electronicarts\thesims\saves and move the file slot_00000001.save to the desktop
3. Start the game again and load your save game

Check if the house is back

Thanks for replying, I have followed your instructions but  there are still has no households.

Also there is a  file named Slot_00000002.save. Do I need to do something with this?

No, that's your save game. If you remove that, all is gone.

Do you have files called slot_00000002.save.ver0 to ver4 ?

What did you want to tell me about the over files? (yes I do have them)

Try this then

Rename slot_00000002.save to slot_00000002.save.old and then rename slot_00000002.save.ver0 to slot_0000002.save.

The ver ones are backups. Older saves but check if you still have the houses. Repeat for ver1, 2, 3 and for if 0 also doesn't work,

Unfortunately it's still not working, not to worry though as I'm going to start again. One thing I wanted to ask is how do I restart the game without causing problems with the code?

All of my houses are back now and the buildings. I didn't even know what that button did.

Hope they don't disappear again. I'm really unsure what causes the issue

I would recommend to make regular backups of your stuff: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/backups/
