So, I've been playing the Sims 4 with NO MODS for years now, and all of a sudden, whenever i start up the game, it boots fine; but, whenever I click the large play button to resume my games, the game completely crashes. I've tried everything to try and fix this, please help.

@imclark27 If you have RivaTuner Statistics Server or MSI Afterburner, disable it while you play. (You could try updating it instead; that's worked for some people.)
Otherwise, or if that doesn't help, please reinstall DirectX 9:

You don't have to uninstall it; just run the installer and it should repair.

@imclark27 Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Also, I couldn't figure out how to disable MSI from the sims, so I just looked at some specific settings and changed them, as well as installing DirectX like you said, and i tried to start the sims, and it is working properly now, so i'm assuming installing directX worked so thank you!!
