Sims 3 won't start from Origins

So I recently downloaded the Stupid Origins Client to play my old sims 3 games since my new PC doesn't have a disk drive.

 

After more hassle than the whole process was worth, I got most of my old games & expansions downloaded. Now, when I click to play, it does nothing. The Client vanishes for a second and then reappears as if I've done nothing. The game doesn't launch. It's like I never pressed play.

 

I've looked up a few things and turned off the Origins in-game option that was recommended. I've tried repairing the game files. Still no avail.

Tell me, EA geniuses,
How do I play the one game of yours I actually like with your client?

@Oreowen  Have you ever had two EA/Origin accounts merged?  Sometimes the merge doesn't work correctly: the base game product key doesn't get transferred properly, or it gets blocked, or deactivated, or is otherwise rendered unusable.  When Origin finds no valid base game key, it does exactly what you've described.  If this is your issue, you'll need to contact EA customer support to get it sorted out.

@Oreowen , I'm going to have your thread moved to the Sims 3 forums so that you can either search there for answers to your problem or someone will answer your post. Please note that thread necromancy is frowned upon, so if you find a thread that describes your problem and is older than a year or so, please link to it so the Champions and Heroes in that section can help you. 

 

This section is mainly for older Sims games like the original game (The Sims) or Sims 2 or Sims Medieval.

@puzzlezaddict I actually did very recently Merge my two accounts. The process appeared to go very smoothly with the Customer Service Rep I spoke with and all my games appeared under one profile (at least, all the ones I had registered). I'll give them a shout and see whats up. Thanks!
