Sims 3 won't start (PC)

I have a Windows 7 PC and recently had issues installing the Sims 3 that I bought and downloaded from Origin but, that problem was resolved from tech support.  Now the game will not start!  It attempts to load the game but, nothing comes up.  I have tried opening the game from the install folder but, that didn't do anything.

EA Support sent me a link to manually update and is now working.

I am contacting tech support right now but it is a 30-35min wait...
