Sims 3 won't install.....

I bought Sims 3 for my girlfriend the other day and have decided to install it on my laptop so she is able to play it while she is here. But we I put the disc into my DVD rw drive it doesn't do anything doesn't load it or show a picture. I have the acer aspire 5749, can anybody help me?

Hi mikeyshore, Your saying when you put the Disk into the disc drawer it doesn't do anything? Ok here's a little tip for you. 

Go to Start > Computer > right click the DVD drive > Select install or run program from your media. or open autoplay...
