Sims 3 town life

I got the sims three stuff expansion..Town life,and it was purchased but will not download.Have tried many many times to download,always says to log out and try again.I do and it doesn't work.I have restarted computer,updated windows,updated the sims 3,reinstalled origin..Nothing seems to be working.I want to purchase the into the future expansion,but why purchase anything from origin if I cannot even play it??any idea what I need to do,or what the issue is?
