All you have to do is turn edge smoothing all the way up! This is the same problem The Sims 2 has.

So- sorry if this is very late but I just downloaded the game five seconds ago and encountered the same problem you have. But in the settings menu I unchecked

full screen mode and book it stopped flickering. There may be another way but I’m fine with it not being full screen. If that helps let me know.
