I recently wanted to play the Sims 3 again after a few years and reinstalled the game. Whenever I pressed play it would take me to the launcher fine but as soon as I pressed play on the Sims 3 launcher it would redirect me back to Origin, I have been browsing this forum for a few days looking for a fix but so far the DirectX fix hasn't worked, neither has updating Graphics drivers, reinstalling my game, etc. I even submitted a support ticket to EA on Tuesday and now, on Saturday, they have not responded. If someone can help me fix this please, I just want to build houses.

@CringeyClench If your computer has a 12th-gen Intel processor, that's the issue: Sims 3 doesn't load properly on these CPUs. You can try the patch created by Lazy Duchess and described here:
If you don't have an affected processor (or you aren't sure whether you do), or the patch doesn't work for you, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
