Sims 3 not working on laptop

I have the disc version of the Sims 3 and when I try to open the game on my laptop, the menu logo freezes and doesn't load into the game, so I have to force quit the game out. I've tried deleting other apps off of my computer, I uninstalled all of the expansion packs I have and tried redownloading all of them again, but every time it just does the same thing. Help please! I don't know what's wrong!
