Sims 3 launcher will not work

Everytime I try to open up the Sims 3 a screen comes up and says "Sims 3 launcher has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution" after that the screen will go off and nothing will happen. Please help I have tried everything I could think of. I even uninstalled and than reinstalled the game.

This is just for testing purposes to see if the game itself works.
