Thanks for the dxdiag; it's the first thing I would have asked for. Can you provide some information on what kinds of crashes you're seeing? For example, does the game crash or freeze, right at startup, when you're trying to load a specific save, or when you try to start a new save as well? Do you get any error messages? Have you previously been able to play Sims 3 on this computer?
There are so many reasons that TS3 might crash, and therefore so many different potential solutions, that it's necessary to start by narrowing things down.
